This year organised by the Cheltenham & Gloucester area.  Race against neighbouring WSCC Areas.  Held at Actiondrome Karting, Wroughton, Swindon.    Format is a 2 hour endurance race for teams of 3 or 4.  Also suitable for novices as it's about driving carefully and doing as many laps without bumping or time penalties (for kart rage!). £155 per team/kart (£38.75 each) booked before 1st March with me - email Tony Sighe (tsighe@aol.com)

Sat 8th - Suspension Health Check with 'Track Developments'

Sat 22nd - Performance Car Action Day at Castle Combe

A chance to take your car on the track. Or just come along and park in our reserved club space and meet up with fellow Westfield owners from other areas.  Many enjoy just watching the 'amateur' driving on the track! Contact me for free entry tickets & club paddock parking, but remember to buy your half price track passes in advance through me (chrisbradley@bigfoot.com).  See the pics from last year here.

MAY

Date TBD - Rolling Road Engine Health check session

Again with the Cheltenham & Gloucester a RR session at BTEC Racing (Bradleys) in Shipton U Wychwood near Burford.  A chance to check your engine is in tune and producing the expected power? Thur 22nd  - Area Meeting at the Cross Hands

Moved to the 4th Thursday of the month to be closer to mid-summers day.  If the last couple of years are anything to go by it will rain.  However, this is the night of our “Mid Summer Blat”.  A mystery route around the local country side & back to the pub.

JULY

Sat 1st - Classics at the Hall

Gloucestershire's friendliest and most informal sporting heritage evening out.  Starts 4.00pm. FREE
Good ales and food plus BBQ at a fine old Cotswold coaching inn.

The event arranged by Glavon TRs and sponsored by Moss Bristol who will be presenting a range of prizes on the evening. It is an informal and very friendly event in the most pleasant of English surroundings where friends and family are all welcome.

We will be inviting all the favourite British sports car marques to the event. The large car park will be reserved just for us and in the past we have enjoyed the company of up to 120 sports cars at the Hall. The organisers need to know how many cars are coming along so that they can get some ideas of numbers and ensure space for similar cars together. Please let me know if you'd like to attend.  See promotional poster here.

Sat 15th/ Sun 16th - Meet the neighbours BBQ  & Driving Tour

(Highwayman Pub nr Cirencester)  A chance for the local areas to convene & share/discuss/enjoy all things Westfield.  Meet around 10am for a 70 mile Cotswolds road tour (tulip maps provided - cost £2). Pub will be open from 10am serving coffee & snacks. Clear out your garage and bring along any bits you want to sell/swap/give away? The BBQ starts at 5pm (£8 per head on the day) but you can arrive in the afternoon, pitch your tent and sit back with a beer. Camping is free on the field adjacent to the pub (technically making us residents!). This year we have toilets!!! The pub will be open until very late! Sound testing & vehicle dynamic checks available Huge car park (locked overnight). Full breakfast available in the pub on Sunday morning. This should be a great night and a chance to relax with like minded car nuts in a Le Mans type atmosphere! (being close to the noise from the A417!) See the (cheeky) pics from last year (click)

Please let Tony Sighe (tsighe@aol.com) know if you're coming so I he can gauge numbers for the BBQ etc.

Thur 20th - Area Meeting at the Cross Hands

AUGUST

Sat 12th Pegasus Track Day

For people who are also member of the excellent Bristol Pegasus Motor Club - a cheap and quiet track day with 6 cars on track in each session!  The best track event of the year (according to me!)  (Go to http://www.bristolpegasus.com for more info).  See pics from a previous Pegasus day here.

Thur 17th - Area Meeting at the Cross Hands

Date TBD – Toast to Coast Run.

A weekend day run starting with breakfast down to the coast with the Cheltenham & Gloucester, plus Hants & Wilts group.  Following a scenic route down to the South coast to rendezvous at Burton Bradstock (Dorset).

SEPTEMBER

Sat 9th  Eurofest Action Day - Castle Combe

Contact me for free entry tickets & club paddock parking, & remember to buy your half price track passes in advance through me (chrisbradley@bigfoot.com).

Thu 14th  - Mon 18th Brittany Tour 2006

The tour will leave Poole late evening on Thursday 14th September, returning to Portsmouth on the evening of Monday 18th September.  The aim is to drive to the end of the Finistere Peninsula, have a nice dinner, and drive back, whilst enjoying the scenery and deserted roads of Brittany.  We will be staying in a different hotel each night; in keeping with past September tours these will not be 4 star establishments, but we hope to make some of them more interesting than the average box.

At this early stage we cannot give any definitive cost of the tour; based on the previous tour to Brittany, we expect ferry and accommodation to come out at about £350 to £400 per car.  We are hoping to include one evening meal within this cost.

If anyone is interested email Gavin Tarrant mailto:gavin.t@blueyonder.co.uk?subject=Brittany Tour with a subject of Brittany Tour.  Having some idea of numbers will help get us a better deal. Deposits will be around 100GBP per car payable sometime in April
