Thur 15th - Area Meeting at the Cross Hands

1st regular meeting of the new year.  Hope to see a few cars venturing to the meeting if the weather is kind.

Thur 23rd – Sun 25th – Race Retro, Historic motor show, Stoneleigh park, Coventry

A full weekend of interest and activities, where historic motorsport enthusiasts, competitors, event organisers and the supporting industry, can come together under one roof, in a relaxed atmosphere, to discuss their plans and promote their events and services. This pre-season gathering, at the end of the Winter break, is far away from the pressures of the racing season and allows time and space for all to enjoy this amazing sport in all its disciplines, which has grown so much since the 1980's.

Newcomers to the sport will find all they need to get started, from advice to accessories. The event will showcase all historic disciplines and display racing, rallying, hillclimb, dragsters, trials and short circuit cars plus motorcycles, covering a period from the 1930's to the 1990's, currently in use for historic motorsport.

Sun 10th - Bristol Motor and Classic Car Show

This event is a mecca for those who love anything to do with classic cars. Hundreds are on show, of all different models and ages, plus some hilariously customized varieties. If you’re the only car enthusiast in the family, don’t feel too guilty about dragging the rest of the family along, as there is plenty of family entertainment, including a craft fair, a fun fair, live bands and special attractions for children.

A highlight of the event is the cavalcade around the city of Bristol.

Thur 21st - Area Meeting at the Cross Hands

This year the 3rd Thursday of the month IS mid-summers day, and this is the night of our “Mid Summer Blat”.  We’ll be departing from the Cross Hands carp park from 7:30pm for a Treasure Hunt on a mystery route around the local country side & back to the pub.

JULY

Sat (date to be confirmed) - Classics at the Hall

Gloucestershire's friendliest and most informal sporting heritage evening out.  Starts 4.00pm. FREE
Good ales and food plus BBQ at a fine old Cotswold coaching inn.

The event arranged by Glavon TRs and sponsored by Moss Bristol who will be presenting a range of prizes on the evening. It is an informal and very friendly event in the most pleasant of English surroundings where friends and family are all welcome.

We will be inviting all the favourite British sports car marques to the event. The large car park will be reserved just for us and in the past we have enjoyed the company of up to 120 sports cars at the Hall. The organisers need to know how many cars are coming along so that they can get some ideas of numbers and ensure space for similar cars together.

SEPTEMBER

Fri Aug 31st – Sun 2nd Sept Goodwood Revival Meeting Goodwood

The Goodwood Revival meeting is firmly established as the greatest historic motor racing event in the world. Unique in motor sport events, drivers and visitors alike step back in time. The early 50’s fashions give the occasion an elegance previously lost to motor racing; current and historic drivers compete on the track in the very finest of the historic racing cars, many racing again for the first time since their heyday in the 50’s and 60’s.

A truly unique occasion, come, with your guests, period costume is not obligatory, for many of our visitors it just adds to the fun of the weekend. Gentlemen are required to wear jacket and tie or cravat in order to gain access into the paddock area.

For private parties of 30 or more the Hawthorn Pavilions are right on the start straight and have private gardens alongside the track. Internal period dressing is optional.

Friday is a busy day of official practice with all cars and motorcycles taking to the track so competitors can familiarise themselves with the challenging track and strive for the best starting-grid position.

Saturday is a spectacular day of historic motor sport in the most authentic surroundings. A full programme of exceptional racing action features throughout the day and one of the highlights is sure to be the Brooklands Trophy race featuring cars of a type that raced at that famous banked circuit.

Sunday is all racing, with great battles on the track. The world’s rarest, fastest, most beautiful and most valuable historic racing cars compete in jaw dropping combat. The day ends with a prize giving ceremony on the grid.
