July 20th 2008 - Sporting Bear's Charity Classic Car Show
I've bought a house since I went to the Sporting Bear's Charity event at Kimbolton in 2006. I missed 2007's event. Just as well, really, because it chucked it down. This year was back to form and a glorious day beckoned. I drove with just one Westfield driver this year. Our route, this year, still involved a bit of the A14, but a chunk of it was through some great bits of countryside road I'd driven many times before. A little uneven, but that's half the fun. Like last year, we met up with the Northampton bunch at Raunds' McDonalds, then travelled the eight or so miles to Kimbolton.
The show itself was pretty much the same as any other show, so I'll not go into any details. The most interesting part, for me, was the sheep dog demonstration - five dogs, all under the control of one guy... very impressive!
The journey home was even better than the journey there. I put my faith in the sat-nav's sense of direction. I have my sat-nav set to the shortest route as opposed to quickest, as it usually gives a nicer journey than motorways... and so it did. Once I got my bearings, the sat-nav went off and the right foot went down a little further, with a Subaru up our chuffs, trying to keep up!
Enjoy the pics.
