July 16th 2006 - Sporting Bear's Charity Classic Car Show

An early 07:30 start from Cambridge Tesco. It was fairly foggy and I dispite the forecast being a scorcher of a day, I threw a coat on. We started by meeting up first with SparkyB, then on to Raunds to meet up with the other areas. An excellent turn out with, I think, twenty-one cars in total.

The first part of the journey involved taking a couple of wrong turns but, in such glorious weather, I wasn't complaining. The show itself was full of the usual marques, so nothing of major interest but, on such a wonderfully, hot day, who cares?

Unfortunately, kit-cars being as they are, a couple of cars didn'y make it home under their own power. A Dax had a broken throttle pot and a Bike-engined Fury had a buggered clutch. With a bit more time, the Fury probably coulkd have been fixed but, the recovery truck needed to be on it's way, so both the Dax and the Fury left together. Amusing in the the only two non-Westfield cars to come along with the WSCC broke down. :-D
