Cambridge Area Report August04 (part 2)
Sunday 29th - Bi Area Run with Norwich.
After the usual “what do we do this time” debate on the board, Chris said he’d been talking to Jed (new Norwich AO) about getting a run organised with the local Caterham owners.
After a lot of false starts (and a lack of Caterham involvement, apparently worried about convoying??????), we decided on the multi rendezvous technique of getting to where we need to go, I met up with the Cambridge lot at Milton Tesco, we met up with Chris and the Peterborough lads at Downham Market and Jed and the Norwich guys at Hunstanton.
All in all the turnout was good as the weather wasn’t I was in the Zetec SE, Liam Pinto SEiW, Andy and Tanya in their SE Xflow, Neil and Nat in Neils CVH SEiW, Mark in his CVH SEiW, Langly in his Quantum Extra, John and Sue in their CVH SEiW, Geoff and Trish in their SE Xflow, Jed in his CVH SEiW, Ian in his Zetec SEiW, Paul in his SE Xflow and Dominic in his CVH SEi. (Phew!!!!)
We had a good drive to Sunny Hunny and parked up in one of the many car-parks for a tyre kicking session and the fish and chips after which we took a drive to Holkam Hall where we had a good deal of interest in the cars and in the home made ice cream.
Liam’s copious tool kit came in useful in effecting a tempory repair to Neil’s exhaust (snapped rear mounting). After our fill of ice-cream and pop we departed for home.
Neil and I split off from the rest of the group and made it home before the skies opened up as did Chris, Liam got a good soaking about 10 mins from home as did Mark and Geoff, Andy and a couple of others hid in a service station (mush to the annoyance of the customers that actually wanted petrol) till the worst was over.
Again a good day was had by all and I’d like to thank Jed for his partnership
in organising the day.
