Excerpt taken from April's issue of Westfield World
So far the Cambridge area has had two meetings that have been well attended.
The first was an area re-start meeting on Sunday, February 22nd to which fifteen
members and four cars attended. At this meeting it was decided that we would
meet on Sunday, every four weeks, at the White Horse in Milton or Tesco’s
car park in Milton, Cambridge, depending on whether we were going for a blat
or not.
As most people are short of time we also decided that on the days of the area
meets we would focus on getting out in the cars and arrange further activities
around that.
We have a quiz at every meeting for a bit of fun that costs #1.00
to enter. The proceeds of which, go to Milton Hospice.
Neil Hall, who is one of our members, is creating an area website that’s
coming along well and will shortly be added to the club webspace. We just have
to fill it up now!
Our second meet on the 14th March was pretty much rained off with just myself
attending in my Pinto Westie.
I managed to do a short demo run up the A10 in monsoon conditions for a prospective
new member (get one soon Langly), who was enthused enough to still want a Westie
afterwards.
After that we met back at the White Horse and pretty much finalized the calender
for the rest of the year, save for a rolling road shoot out at Peter Balwins
and an airfield day at Bassingbourne that we are still looking into.
The next meeting is on Sunday 11th April, meet in Tesco’s car park at
11am for a “fish and chip” run to Hunstanton, we’ll then either
make our way back to the White Horse in Milton or go our separate ways from
Hunstanton.
Chaz.
