Meeting Venue
A 14th Century Country Inn which claims to have links with King George III. Has wood panelling, large car park, large open fireplace and offers some hand pumped cask ales. At meetings, food is available from the bar menu ranging from steak & mushroom baguette to roast.
Thames Valley area meetings are intended to simply allow members a chance to socialise and share stories, advice, and a beer. Of course, they can also be equally used to escape from the domestic pressures and chores at home. Weather permitting, we take off our bonnets and expose our hardware for all to see.
Directions
From Reading: follow A4 towards Maidenhead. Pass Kennedy's Garden centre on left. After 1/2 mile on right is golf club. Appx 100yds on left is The Bird (blind entry to car park) right before Chrysler dealer!
From Maidenhead\M4 jcn 9: A4 to Reading. Past the car dealer on left (Toyota?). At Knowl Hill continue on very short dual-carriage way. 200 yds further look for Chrysler dealer on right: The Bird is next door.
