Welcome to the website for the Cambridge Area of the Westfield Sports Car Club, re-initialised after a few months with a new area organiser - Ian DeChastelain.
2007 bites the dust and 2008 comes in. Last year was a pretty quiet year, I think. Again, I didn't get out much, but for an excellent reason - my daughter came to live with me. :-D Plenty of money has gone on her, to get her settled. I also bought a house. So, whatever money I had left went on that. Hopefully, 2008 will present itself with a few more opportunities, now that things have settled down again.
Car-wise - I've spent the few months soldering up a Megasquirt which I hope to get running on the car) along with a collection of bits to add a charge-cooler to my car. This is the last planned big spend, but only time will tell!
Lastly, enjoy your look around this site. If you would live in the area and like to know more about getting involved in the events then don't hesitate to contact either myself or Chaz. We will attempt to help in any way possible.
Enjoy :-)
The menu above is used to navigate to the various locations on this site. Each button links to the top page of each menu. They can be pressed at any time if you wish jump to another section.
I have tried to make the navigation of this site as simple as possible.
There will be many instances where the use of a home
icon is used. It's role will vary from section to section but, an explanation
of it's use will be displayed at the start of each one.
Previous years
So ends 2006. Another year gone and a bit of a topsy-turvy year. My car was on the road, at last, and I made it to Stoneleigh, albeit one year later than planned! Unfortunately, a stupid accident on the way to Stoneleigh took Chaz's car off the road for most of the year. I have fond memories of the events I participated in.
2005 has gone and was not so great. Various job losses, a spectacular crash on a track day for one of our members and my RS Turbo installation woes. These things, amongst others, meant that we didn't manage to get out as much as 2004. However, a lot of the cars have had their fix of 'upgraditus' and this year should, hopefully be a return to form for the Cambridgeshire area. As my car has been off the road for almost a year (I'd originally planned four months) I will try to get involved in as many events as possible. Here's to 2006. :-D
2004 was a great year, with all the cars being used to their fullest in various events over the preceeding months. However, 2004 is over with and a whole new set of events is being prepared for 2005 (we hope). Many cars are currently going through changes. Mainly engine replacements such as a VX, a Cossie Turbo (It's a Dax, though!) and my own RS Turbo... and these should start to appear on the roads over the coming months so, more people to enjoy the atmosphere!
Note: I must make a special mention to Ian DeChasterlain or, Chaz, as he is better known for all of the hard work and effort he has put in over the past year. Not just organising events but, the help he has given all of the members in the upkeep and maintainance of our cars, especially myself as, I constantly use his local knowledge, living only a few minutes away from his home.
